Some people’s deputies initiate returning a 16% export duty for some oilseeds.
The respective bill №9202 on amendments to the Law on Export Duty Rates for Some Types of Oilseeds is registered in the parliament on October 16, HB reports.
In particular, it is suggested setting the export duty at 16% for flax and sorrel seeds as well as striped sunflower seeds and kernels, if these goods are exported in the primary packaging under 25 kg.
According to the explanatory note to the bill, since 2012, a 10% duty has been imposed on the oilseeds export, and the export duty to EU countries annually decreases by 0.8%. Its authors noted that the existing law stimulates reprocessing seeds for the oil and, at the same time, makes uncompetitive the seeds production for export markets.
According to them, the return to 16% export duty for these goods will stimulate reprocessing seeds of the flax, sunflower and sorrel for the poultry feed or confectionary products and snacks in Ukraine, and the future export of ready products.
